Hoodia Gordonii Can Help You Lose Weight

Hoodia (Hoodia gordonii) is a plant that is a lot like a cactus, sometimes called the “ Desert cactus grown in South Africa ” (even though the plant is really called a succulent, not a cactus), and is found principally in the deserts of South Africa, Angola, Namibia, and Botswana. Hoodia Gordonii is found in groupings of green with upright stems. After five years, you'll see purple flowers bloom on the plant signaling that the plant is ready to be harvested.

For centuries and perhaps millennia, the San people have cut off the stem of the Hoodia and eaten the plant to prevent hunger and thirst pangs when they had long hunting expeditions. Today's people were first aware of the San's usage of hoodia in the year 1937 through the reporting of an anthropologist from Holland. Later, in the 1990's, the promising drug company Called Pfizer became highly interested in developing a weight-loss treatment drug from cactus-like Hoodia Grodonii.

It should be pointed out that you won't locate a magic weight-loss pill or an herb that magically makes you lose weight. Those people who must or desire to tone their bodies must have an exercise routine and eat right plus taking supplements for weight-loss to help them succeed in losing weight. With that reminder, it's perfectly legitimate that cactus-like Hoodia can indeed take the edge off of one's appetite, permitting an individual to withstand an extended amount of time between eating and have more endurance for exercise and physical activities without replenishing as often. hoodia gordonii is safe for your body and like other supplements that are plant-based, hoodia gordonii is in fact more natural than the synthetic drugs approved by the Federal Drug Administration with their numerous and notorious side-effects.

There are a handful of individuals who say that hoodia doesn't help curb their appetite; however, there are plenty who offer testimony that hoodia takes away their frequent cravings and helps them to not feel thirsty during exercise. You can conclude from other people's experiences and observations that hoodia gordonii help people achieve their goals for weight loss, even though due to varying body types, personal needs, and metabolisms, not everyone would benefit from taking it. Research indicates that the more weight an individual need to lose, then hoodia works better (don't forget, in addition to other traditional weight-loss practices like absorbing plenty of natural sunlight, eating plenty of fiber, physical exercise, and avoiding refined carbohydrates).

In Leicester, England, a clinical test was conducted and, the participants were either given an extract of the hoodia gordonii plant or placebo, and then they were sent back to their lives, to go back to their regular pursuits. None of the volunteering participants exercised. None of them deviated from what they had normally done for years, which mostly consisted of a lot of sedentary activities. The volunteering participants ate as much food as they wanted. Fifteen days later, the statistics were that the volunteers who had consumed the hoodia extract had cut their caloric intake by one thousand calories per day, with no extra effort whatsoever. In fact, they weren't even realizing what was happening. However they were taking in less calories, and the volunteering participants weren't doing any exercise. Burning calories is totally imperative to losing weight successfully, and the cactus-like Hoodia had help burn the calories.
