I recently took both of my shih tzus for their distemper/parvo shot. George weighs in at 19 and a half pounds and Eve and sixteen and half lbs. The two of them are happiest when they are seeing their friendly veterinary doctor down the road, I think it is an attention thing. Chloe went in first.

Eve sprinted back out when the veterinary doctor had completed examining her At this point, Eve began to throw up until all contents were out of her stomach. Our shih tzu was so sick she couldnt displace not even an inch. We were obviously worried at this stage and all we could do was wait and hope for the best. It went from bad to worse, she lost control of her bowl, and didn't seem to be able to concentrate on anything.

Our vet John was very quick off the market and got some steroids into our shitzu as fast as he could. We held back with baited breath over the course of the next 10 minutes to observe what effect this steroid would have on her. The rate of her breathing was jumbled sometimes it was fast sometimes it was slow. We rushed her to a specialty infirmary where she was admitted in serious state There was only so much John could do so we fetch her to a special hospital for pets. The following 24 hours were critical and we didnt know if she would get better the night.

The hospital put her on a drip that night. Few people in the clinic were particularly positive about the potential result for our shih tzu dog . She spent two days in the hospital being pumped with drugs which was a bit disappointing as you could tell she was ill. This reaction to the injection caused her to go into shock, along with puffiness and bleeding in her stomach and intestines. The good news is that she is making great footsteps forward in her recuperation.

Whilst recuperating she appears to spend a lot of time sipping water and drowsing off whilst she recovers every day. I think she will come to a full recovery with time. It is marvelous how much I now know about these injections that are given to dogs, I spend a huge amount of time searching the on the cyberspace.

I have learned that the shih tsu breed are the number one to react to them. And I will be working to get "full disclosure" for people that take their pets to get immunized. This was a nightmare and very pricey.Others should not have to go through this.
